WORLD SKIN HEALTH DAY – 2025

World Skin Health Day is being observed across the world since 2013 to raise awareness of and treat a diverse range of skin conditions. In India, it is observed by Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists & Leprologists (IADVL) on July 8^th every year. Various activities like Radio talks, Awareness campaigns, Social media posts, Discussions, Skin- Check Camps were organised across India with theme “No Health Without Skin Health”.

As a part of the World Skin Health Day observation, Department of Dermatology had organised a Poster making Competition for Undergraduate MBBS students on 07.07.2025 at SSIMC & RC, T.begur. The theme for Poster making was “No Health Without Skin Health”. Students actively participated in the competition with well-designed, extremely creative, informative educational posters with attractive images and diagrams. A total of thirteen teams had participated. Out of which, the best two posters were awarded 1^st & 2^nd prizes.

WORLD VITILIGO DAY – 2025

World Vitiligo Day is observed every year on 25^th June as a tribute to the famous musical artist Michael Jackson who was suffering from Vitiligo and expired on 25^th June 2009. The theme for this year is “Innovation for every skin, powered by AI”.

As a part of the World Vitiligo Day observation, Department of Dermatology had organised a week long health camp “Vitiligo Saptaha” from 23^rd June to 29^th June 2025 in our Out Patient Department during which awareness about vitiligo disease, free consultation and free treatment was provided for the vitiligo patients. Handouts providing detailed information about Vitiligo disease was also given to the patients.
